About
Angelique Panday is an Amsterdam based visual artist. Her art practise over the years has varied from contributing in contemporary art exhibitions in Europe, working on various commission based design projects, to being the lead-vocalist of an underground psychedelic art band performing at off-spaces, galleries and contemporary art exhibitions.
Becoming a mother in 2015 has transformed her life and art practise inherently, just as so many other mothers. Where formerly in her artistry most works derived from the realm of dreaming and love & romance, the connection with social conditioning in Western society were to be found at its centre. While being brought back in relation to the human basic needs of understanding ones own spiritual conduct. This remains an ongoing quest, in exploration of ‘raison d'être’ in our day and age.
With the celebration of new life making its entry, another urge emerged from her new found role in motherhood. She founded Bibs kids a baby-lifestyle brand after a 3 year period of research on ethical and eco-friendly production for newborn enfants. Exploring the world of imagination and of the inner-child ,lays a new layer in the foundation of her practise. This in correlation with the actual progression of cognitive memory development within young children and their imagination, followed by its receptivity. Creating from a safe space in a rather “unsafe” time, the emerging projects are intrinsically connected to a world of childlike imagination.
